This afternoon through Friday midday: East northeasterly to northeasterly with a light to moderate breeze of 06 to 13 mph.
SYNOPSIS:
A loose surface pressure gradient will maintain mostly gentle winds across the region. Pockets of moisture at the lower levels of the atmosphere will cause isolated showers particularly during the latter part of this forecast period.
Seas are expected to gradually deteriorate and peak near 8 feet during the latter part of this forecast period. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.
STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to rough WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 8 feet
SPECIAL FEATURE:
At 11:00 am, the center of Tropical Storm Paulette was located about 940 miles east northeast of St. Maarten and the center of Tropical Storm Rene was located about 1790 miles east of St. Maarten. Based on the projected paths, these systems are not expected to pose a direct threat to St. Maarten.
