SURFACE WINDS: This afternoon through Wednesday midday: West to southwesterly with a light breeze of 04 to 07 mph, becoming lighter and variable at times.
SYNOPSIS: A dry atmosphere will continue to restrict significant shower activity across the region. However, due to the combination of daytime heating and light winds, local showers are possible during this forecast period. Due to northerly swells associated with Tropical storm Epsilon, seas are expected to continue deteriorating, peaking near 9 feet. These rough seas will remain through the next few days. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.
STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate to rough WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 9 feet
SPECIAL FEATURES: Tropical Storm Epsilon is moving slowly in the central Atlantic Ocean, and away from the local region. This system does not pose a direct threat to St. Maarten. The Meteorological Department of St. Maarten will continue to monitor this system.
