Raey Lauffer was crowned Curaçao’s 2020 Tumba King for his performance of “Kòrsou t’ei bula” early Saturday morning at the Festival Center.
The winning song that will now become the main theme of this year’s carnival was composed by former king Hendrik de Windt. It also won prizes as most original Tumba and for best arrangement by Dwight Leoneta. Second place was Amos Balentien with “Histeria… abracadabra” that had the best text too. Incumbent king Dibo Doran was third, with Irving “Luwi” Jano and Djuric Virginie rounding off the top five.
