Caretaker State Secretary Raymond Knops (right) arrived at Saba’s airport where he was greeted by Island Governor Jonathan Johnson (left) late afternoon on Monday.
SABA--Caretaker State Secretary of Home Affairs and Kingdom Relations Raymond Knops arrived in Saba on Monday afternoon, May 17, for a short visit.
Present at the airport to receive him and his delegation were Island Governor Jonathan Johnson and Island Secretary Tim Muller. After his arrival, Knops went to the Museum Grounds in Windwardside for an informal conversation with former Commissioner Will Johnson, prior to having dinner with the Executive Council.

Knops will go the waste-management facility, this morning, May 18, to see the improvements that have taken place there, make a boat trip to see Saba from the water and visit Johan Cruijff Court where lights have been installed to enable people to play sports during the evening hours.
He also will visit a goat farm and receive an update from invasive-species specialists about the goat-control project to remove free-roaming goats.
Following an informal lunch with the Island Council, Knops will also have a meeting with the Executive Council.
A meeting is scheduled with the Outbreak Management Team (OMT) in the afternoon to talk about the crisis communication during the COVID-19 pandemic and Saba’s successful vaccination campaign.
Knops will then meet the recently-installed Saba Youth Council. The Youth Council members will talk about their ideas regarding sports, healthcare, education and Saba’s general development.
Knops and his delegation will travel to St. Maarten late this afternoon.
