Supermarket robbed at gunpoint on Wed.

PHILIPSBURG--A supermarket in Fort Willem was robbed at gunpoint around 7:20pm Wednesday, September 25.

The supermarket’s owner contacted police shortly after two armed men came into his establishment and made off with the day’s earnings. According to the owner, both men were brandishing firearms and fled on foot in the direction of the former Great Bay Beach Hotel after committing the robbery.

The Special Robbery Unit is busy with the investigation, said the St. Maarten Police Force KPSM on Friday.
