Unless one has urgent business in Simpson Bay and Cole Bay, it would be advisable to avoid the area. As of 3:30pm, traffic was backed up almost to Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) and blocked in both directions on the Simpson Bay Causeway.
In other news, St. Maarten has welcomed quite a few mega yachts in the last few days and there are currently at least a dozen docked in the Simpson Bay lagoon.
