ANGUILLA--The Royal Anguilla Police Force is investigating the circumstances surrounding an early morning fire which destroyed the business places of Johnno’s Beach Stop Bar and Grill and Dad’s Bar and Grill on Sandy Ground Beach. Two other buildings that were in close proximity were also damaged by the fire.
From early morning on Wednesday news travelled around the island of the great loss. Johnno’s restaurant has been in existence since 1985 and Dad’s for the past five years. Both are favourite places for both residents and visitors.
The police reported that at 3:20am on Wednesday, July 11, officers on a routine patrol discovered the business places ablaze. The Fire Department was contacted and responded but was unable to prevent the two buildings from being totally destroyed by the fire.
As the Police continue their investigation into this matter they are appealing to members of the public who may have been in the area at the time of the incident, and may have witnessed anything or anybody or have any information regarding this incident to contact the Valley Police Station with such information.
