DAWN BEACH--The country’s hospitality industry is expected to receive a boost when the Westin St. Maarten Dawn Beach Resort and Spa starts operating under the luxurious JW Marriott brand, which is expected to come online as of November 2023.
JW Marriott is a luxury hotel brand owned by Marriott International. A notification about the rebranding sent to timeshare owners stated that the redevelopment of the hotel is well underway. “The demolition process is currently taking place. The estimated soft opening date for the hotel is November 2023,” the notification stated.
The new hotel will have 203 rooms and amenities similar to the previous hotel, the notification stated.
“We will share photos of the progress of the construction as we go along, just as we did with the construction of DBC [Dawn Beach Resort] until after the passing of Hurricane Irma. We thank all of you for patiently trusting us and allowing us to come up with the correct fit for our world-class location. It is exciting to know that your fractional ownership will now be adjacent to St. Maarten’s most luxurious hotels: The JW Marriott St. Maarten.”
The notification stated that the developer has scheduled a price increase for all Dawn Beach Club remaining inventory across the board. “This will ensure that our three bedroom prices are lined up with the nightly hotel room rates per season.”
Marriott Hotels and Resorts is Marriott International's brand of full-service hotels and resorts based in Bethesda, Maryland. As of June 30, 2020, there were 582 hotels and resorts with 205,053 rooms operating under the brand, in addition to 160 hotels with 47,765 rooms planned for development.
