Earthquake hits close to Trinidad

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad--The University of the West Indies (UWI) Seismic Research Centre (SRC) recorded a 4.4-magnitude earthquake off Trinidad and Tobago early Thursday.

  The quake struck at 12:10am about 50 kilometres (km) west-southwest of the capital, Port of Spain, 61km northwest of San Fernando and 74km west-southwest of Arima.

  There were no reports of injuries or damage. But several residents reported feeling the tremor and noted their experiences on the SRC’s Facebook page. ~ Caribbean360 ~
