PORT-OF-SPAIN, Trinidad--Maintenance staff and security officers at the National Maintenance Training and Security Company Limited (MTS) are moving in full gear preparing for the partial reopening of schools on Monday.
Adrian Raymond, Manager, Corporate Communications at MTS, said its team has updated both its maintenance and security protocols to deal with the hundreds of students who will return to classes next week.
“The protocols include the increased cleaning of high-traffic areas, bathrooms and classrooms [and – Ed.] assisting the physical reorganisation of classrooms, lunch areas, locker rooms and waiting areas to accommodate physical distancing,” Raymond said.
“[We are also busy with] placement of signs and reminders all over the school campuses and ensuring that temperature checks, contact tracing and mandatory washing of hands occur at all points of entry,” he added.
MTS’ chief executive officer Lennox Rattansingh commended the efforts of team MTS. “The staff already had their plans in place to deal with the reopening of schools so that once this was confirmed, they went into action like clockwork,” he said.
“Rest assured we are ready and parents can feel confident about their children returning to school to continue their education in a safe and sanitised environment,” Rattansingh said.
“Our relationship with the Ministry of Education as well the principals and teachers has spanned over 40 years and we are proud to be one of their key partners in this effort to physically reopen our education institutions,” he added. ~ Trinidad Guardian ~
