MARIGOT--Avenir Sportif Club de Saint-Martin (ASCSM) is organising the 21st edition of "The 10K of Saint-Martin" this Sunday, February 19. The start of the race will be at 6:30 am in Terres Basses near the La Samanna turning with the finish on the Marigot waterfront, after the return leg from the Agrément roundabout.
This race is open to amateur and experienced runners on the island. An athletics licence or a certificate permitting the participant to engage in competitive running will be required at registration, Saturday, February 18, from 9:00am to 12.30pm at the Louis Vanterpool Stadium sports hall, Marigot.
As in previous years, in addition to the prizes for the winners in each category, bonuses will be offered to the first three men and women in the individual scratch rankings. Two Air Caraïbes tickets will be raffled off after the race.
From the start in Lowlands, the course goes in the direction of Marigot passing the former tourism office roundabout, cemetery roundabout, market roundabout, Bacchus junction, Marina Fort Louis, Galisbay, Agrément roundabout, Galisbay, Ferry Terminal, and to the finish on the waterfront at the end of the fish market.
At 5.45 am, runners who wish to do so will be able to make their way to the starting line in Terres Basses on a bus that will be provided by the organisers on the waterfront. In order to facilitate the organisation, runners are asked to respect the dates and times of registration.
