Martin Luther King, Leonald Connor and Hillside register win in cricket

CUL DE SAC—The 2024 Kiddies Cricket programme for primary schools bowled off Monday with wins for Martin Luther King, Leonald Connor and Hillside Christian Primary schools. Martin Luther King defeated Rev. John A. Gumbs Campus by 16 runs, Leonald Connor Primary beat Seventh-day Adventist by eight runs, and Hillside Christian Primary edged out Browlia F. Maillard Campus by eight runs.

Martin Luther King scored 67 runs off their allotted 10 overs. Jeraldo Geason top scored with a well-played 42 and Costel Charles hit 12 for his team. The wicket takers for the opponent were Rahul Singh with two wickets, and Samuel Henry, Abdiel Joseph, and Jacquan took one wicket each. In reply, Rev. John A. Gumbs reached 51 off 10 overs. Shemar Omar led the way with 25 and Nathaniel Green contributed 10. Zabian, Renicio, Geason and Davi Jerlod took one wicket each. In the centre pitch, Leonald Connor posted 30 off 10 overs. The main scorers were captain Wegantz Pierre with 17, Ezekiel Jean Francois with six and Haratio Rochester with six. The players from Seventh-day Adventist responded with 22 off 10 overs. On Tuesday, rain stopped two matches, which will continue today. Seventh-day Adventist scored 53 off 10 overs. The Rev. John A. Gumbs (JAG) Campus was four for two off two overs. The JAG Campus needs 50 runs from eight overs with eight batters in the shed. In the other match, Martin Luther King Primary compiled 52 off 10 overs. Leonald Connor was 30 for three off five overs. They need 23 runs from five overs with seven batters in hand. The results in the only completed match showed that Browlia F. Maillard (BFM) Campus beat Hillside Christian Primary by 18 runs. The BFM Campus posted 32 runs. For the winners, the main contributors were Kai Bailey with 13, Josh Hodge with 11 and Michael-Angelo Maduro with five. The Kiddies Cricket tournament continues today.
