In windy conditions Team Island Water World from St. Maarten finished third in the St. Thomas Interationanl Regatta warm up race between the big racing boats. It was an around the Island race off St. John race and attracted only the top racers to tune up for Saturday's main event.
Spooky the well known TP 52 won and set the course record. El Ocaso, a regular at the St. Maarten Heineken Regatta was second, while a other regular of the Heineken Regatta, Bernie Wong's "Taz" from Antigua finished just behind Team IWW. Saturday the racing starts with the harbour race, meaning the finish of the race will be in Charlotte Amelie.
