The Tiger Vets from St. Maarten won the 60+ division of the First International Andre “Nell” James Softball Tournament
POND ISLAND—The Tiger Vets from St. Maarten won the 60+ division of the First International Andre “Nell” James Softball Tournament November 10 to 13.
Lions from Curacao placed second.
Milton Martina from the Tiger Vets was named Best Pitcher, Best Batter with an average of 600 and Most Valuable Player of the 60+ group
Organized by the Tigers Vet Male Softball Team, the competition featured Male 60 plus and 50 plus divisions and a 50 plus female group.
Games were played at the Erwin “Baco” Richardson
Little League Ball Park. Competing were teams from
Aruba, Curacao, Bonaire, Anguilla and St. Maarten.
The Controllers Vets from St. Maarten won the 50+ group. Rebels Vets placed second.
Thomas Beras from Controllers Vets was names Best Pitcher and Batting Champion with a 778 average in the 50+ group. Andrew Williams also from the
Controllers Vets was named MVP.
Spinnerz from St. Maarten won the Female division. Yellow Birds from Bonaire finished second.
The Batting Champion was Elisa Wilson from Sparks St. Maarten with an 800 average. Fabiana Richardson from the Spinnerz was named MVP.
The tournament, which is planned as an annual event, was host by the Cay Hill Tigers to honor their Legend and founder of the Tigers Veteran softball team.
