~ The first event of the new youth sailing season ~
Want to try something different this weekend? Sint Maarten Yacht Club is holding the first sail of the season on Saturday, September 6, at 1:00pm. The event is open to adult and youth sailors. Entrance is $15 and includes ice-cream and life jackets. The afternoon will be spent sailing to Marigot for ice-cream and then back to the club.
This Saturday, it's expected that the sailors will bundle into the RS Visions to maximize sailing speed and time spent on the water. It's planned that there will be a similar fun event every Saturday. The yacht club also offers sailing lessons for anyone wanting to participate in this fun sport. The school has a range of boats, from the traditional young sailor vessels, Optimists, to classical Lasers and RS Visions, for the older youths and adults, as well as the Pico.
