Shernel Xavier: Living her dream in music

Shernel Xavier (30) is living her dream as a musical artiste, who entertains audiences with her soothing voice. She is a firm believer in the word of God and uses her talent to help spread His word.

Xavier was born in the Nature Isle of Dominica, but was raised in St. Martin, where she has been living for many years.

Xavier has always had a strong passion for music. Her first public performance was at the age of 15. She had been very timid about performing publicly at the time, but this never stopped her from pursuing her passion. Her determination pushed her to continue even when she wanted to stop.

Xavier is a member of a local Praise and Worship team for the past 13 years and is also a recently ordained Psalmist. Her love for Jesus Christ cannot be contained. On December 5, 2015, she did her first concert, where she had an awesome opportunity to launch her first single “Don't Give Up.”

She can’t wait to perform in Zamar Musical Productions’ MusikFest at Princess Port de Plaisance and Casino on Saturday, March 19, from 7:30pm to midnight. The MusikFest team will be visiting various schools on the island on Friday, March 18, to encourage and motivate youngsters.

Also performing will be Joy Honore, Malaika, Torch, Shawn J, ROXSY and inspirational artist Positive from Trinidad and Tobago.
