PHILIPSBURG--Detectives of the Fraud Department arrested three persons last week as part of a probe into suspected fraud and embezzlement at one of the country’s large supermarkets. The suspects are accused of falsifying invoices and forging signatures.
Police arrested suspects T.J.L.S. and E.S.C. on Tuesday, March 23. A third suspect D.J. was arrested the next day.
All three were questioned and have been incarcerated pending further investigation. Police have not disclosed which of the suspects are male or female.
The Daily Herald understands that a fourth suspect was arrested in connection with this case on Friday, March 26. However, this had not been confirmed by police officials as of 9:30pm Sunday.
According to police, the supermarket’s management made an official complaint against several employees on March 2, after an internal audit.
