Argument between brothers results in serious bodily harm

MARIGOT--An argument between two brothers in French Quarter on May 25, 2018, resulted in one cutting the arm of his sibling with a machete, a serious injury that required 45 days of sick leave for the 33-year-old victim who was born in St. Martin, Vice-Prosecutor Yves Paillard disclosed.


The 30-year-old brother, born in Dominica, who swung the machete with intent to harm was taken into custody. He was previously convicted for similar violence and will appear in court in Marigot this morning. The weapon has not been found and the suspect has said that he was only trying to defend himself.
