MARIGOT--As part of St. Martin Chamber of Commerce’s CCISM’s tenth anniversary, the Chamber is launching the first edition of the “René Mathon Entrepreneur Award”.
Announced at the press conference launching the programme of activities on October 18, the “Rene Mathon Entrepreneur Award” aims to make young entrepreneurs aware of the importance of anticipating managerial decision-making in situations related to the technicality of their activity, to promote the economic dynamics of the territory and to perpetuate and develop the activity of young entrepreneurs on the island of St. Martin, the Chamber explained.
Organised by CCISM in partnership with Fédération de Trés Petites Entreprises (FTPE), ISMA, the Bar of Guadeloupe, St. Bathélémy and St. Martin, the “René Mathon Entrepreneur Award” is open to various independent commercial or craft structures, but not part of a group or from a company located elsewhere than the island of St. Martin.
These structures need to be registered with CCISM, either under the Chamber of Commerce, Chamber of Trades, or Chamber of Agriculture of which the work force does not exceed 20 employees; the activity must have started less than three years ago; and they must be up to date with their social and tax contributions.
Associative structures are not eligible. Only one file is accepted per structure. The participation is free. The application form can be downloaded from the CCISM website or can be retrieved in paper format from the CCISM offices during normal opening hours.
Completed applications must be submitted by the registration deadline of 12:00pm November 15.
The winner will benefit from an awards ceremony with the press on Friday, December 20, and support from the sponsorship committee for four quarters (calendar year 2020), composed of accounting experts, lawyers, socio-professionals (FTPE, Initiative St. Martin) and a banker.
The support will consist of guiding the winner from time to time (two hours per trimester during a meeting with the sponsorship committee) on sticking points according to the competence, experience, and network of the members of the sponsoring committee.
All contest rules and regulations are available on the CCISM website
