Collectivité reminds public of traffic changes for cycling championship

MARIGOT--The Collectivité has issued a reminder of the traffic changes in place for this coming weekend in connection with the French Championship for the Overseas Regional Cycling Committees, the first time this event is being held on the island.

  The population is advised that on Saturday, September 2, the RN7 between the border at Belle Plaine in French Quarter and the entry to Grand Case (Shanty Town) will be closed to all traffic circulation from 3:00pm to 5:30pm for the Individual Time Trial.

  Inhabitants of the districts French Quarter, Orient Bay, Mont Vernon, Cul-de-Sac, and Hope Estate (Grand Case) are strongly advised to make alternative plans during these hours to ensure the course is not blocked for the cyclists.

  On Sunday, September 3, no parking will be allowed outside the Jean-Louis Vanterpool Stadium in Marigot between the hours of 6:00am and 2:00pm. In addition on Sunday no parking will be allowed on Rue de Hollande and Rue de la République between the hours of 6:00am and 2:00pm.

  The Territorial Police are charged with enforcing these orders. The Collectivité thanks the population in advance for its understanding.
