Companies have until May 15 to apply  for aid due to loss of turnover in March

MARIGOT--Since April 16, the Solidarity Fund set up by the state and matched financially by the Collectivité has been providing assistance to businesses severely affected by the health crisis caused by COVID-19.

As of May 1, local businesses can apply for aid of up to 1,500 euros per month from the website (www.impots.gouv.fr) platform for losses in March and April 2020, following government’s decision to extend this scheme a month further.

As of April 29, 829 companies had applied for support under phase one for March

2020 losses, i.e. a total of 1,153,122 million euros. The application form for additional aid was put online on May 1.

Complementary aid (phase two of the Solidarity Fund) between 2,000 and 5,000 euros monthly can be mobilised from May 1 for companies with one to 10 employees.

Applications will be examined by the services of the Collectivité and then sent to Direction des Entreprises de la Concurrence, de la Consommation, du Travail et de

L’ Emploi DIECCTE before payment is made.

The following are conditions of access to phase two in order to benefit from this additional aid: the businesses concerned must have benefitted from the first part of the aid; employ at least one employee on a permanent or fixed-term contract as of March 1, 2020; and have a negative balance between – on the one hand – available assets and – on the other hand – eligible debts within 30 days: the amount of fixed charges, including commercial or professional rents, due for the months of March and April 2020.

Also, they must have been refused a loan for a reasonable amount by the bank, the client company of which was a customer on March 1, 2020; (or not have received a response to this request within 10 days).

Companies that have been prohibited from receiving assistance – according to Article eight of the decree of March 23, 2020 – (even if the company retained an activity such as take-away sales, delivery and order withdrawals) or suffered a loss of turnover of at least 50 per cent in April 2020 compared to April 2019, are eligible for aid of 1,500 euros.
