ST. PETERS--Leonald Conner School (formerly named Leonard Conner School) Social Club members marked Teacher's Appreciation Day on Sunday by worshiping at Good News Baptist Church in St. Peters.
The Club invited its teachers as well as the staffers of other public schools to attend. The Club said persons in attendance were treated “to a very amazing service.” The teachers were "happy and humbled" to worship at the church and were “pleasantly surprised” with the token of appreciation they received during the service.
Teachers who attended thanked the church’s senior pastor Roderick Webster and his wife Dora Webster, associate pastor Glenroy Whyte and the members of Good News Baptist Church of St. Peters for making them feel welcomed, special and appreciated. “They were impressed with the beauty of the church building. Moreover, they were thrilled with the warmth, friendliness and love of the members. Some thought the praise and worship was very personal and inspiring,” a member of the Club said. “The associate pastor's message was on point. She loved the manner in which he built up the topic and his delivery. Many teachers were particularly encouraged with experiencing Brother Joel – their very own young and talented student in primary school, leading them in praise and worship. Not forgetting the prayer and blessing that was so relevant for our times and befitting for their needs. It was all simply put, awesome.”
