A major fire erupted on the sanitary landfill on Thursday afternoon. Thick black smoke could be seen billowing over the area and the Government Administration Building. Firefighters were back at it and worked on containing the blaze on Friday. The company responsible for maintaining the landfill is monitoring and working to resolve the fire with the supervision of the Fire Department.
