"What a thing"

Former Member of Parliament Louie Laveist returned to where it all began and wrote and directed a play which premiered at the Philipsburg Culture Centre on Back Street on Friday. "What a thing" follows the island’s political hot button issues with a mix of drama and family values, according to the director. Laveist, prior to his political career, acted and wrote several plays before laying down his pen to act on a bigger stage at the time, the Island Council and the Parliament of St. Maarten. The play is sold out for the Saturday performance, but tickets for Sunday (US $20) are available and showtime is 8:00pm.
