The Carousel Building in Cole Bay is now home to Toppers Rhum Distillery and Topper’s Restaurant and Bar.

COLE BAY--Topper’s has officially relocated its distillery into the former Carousel building on Welfare Road in Cole Bay.
The new home will host Topper’s Rhum Distillery and Topper’s Restaurant and Bar, and do not worry, they will still be serving the same delicious gelato that residents and visitors have enjoyed for years at The Carousel.
Diego Montanaro has joined the team to ensure the continuity and growth of the gelateria. The carousel ride will be relocated to Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) to give “a warm greeting” to guests upon arrival.
The extended portion of the building that used to house the carousel ride will be transformed into Topper’s Restaurant and Bar with an open, breezy 360-degree view of Simpson Bay Lagoon. “You will be able to come by land or by sea, as they have boat slips ready and waiting for your arrival when you come to dine,” Topper’s Melanie Daboul told The Daily Herald on Tuesday.
Topper’s Restaurant will transition to the new location in January with an updated menu and decor. There will be an additional bar and venue at night in the front of the building where visitors can enjoy cocktails, live entertainment and karaoke.
The distillery is open for tours daily or persons can stop by for a tasting or shopping. On the tour, visitors will have the opportunity to taste unlimited samples of Topper’s signature rhum and vodka, and try a few of their 100 unique specialty flavours of rhum, have a hands-on demonstration on the art of making rum, learn to bake and cook with rum, make gelato and so much more. “The new location truly speaks to the quality of their rhum and their food and will offer a truly enjoyable experience for all of their customers. This new home gives them the opportunity to provide an all-in-one experience under the same roof. The same delicious rhum, meals, drinks, gelato and, yes, karaoke, that you’re used to receiving at Topper’s.”
