Jacobs visits pupils of Leonald Conner School

COLE BAY--Minister of Education, Culture, Youth and Sport Silveria Jacobs visited the Leonald Conner School cycle one, year one class on Tuesday. Teacher Charles-Constant Rollan invited Jacobs to visit with the pupils who have been focusing on and learning about local government for the past two weeks.

Both Rollan and Teacher Fina have been teaching the 23 students about the various ministries and each ministry’s tasks and functions. Rollan took the opportunity to invite the Minister of Education to the classroom where the children officially welcomed, interacted and had fellowship with Jacobs.

The pupils and Jacobs participated in a class activity whereby each student coloured a portrait of the Minister. Jacobs spoke to the children and prompted various questions to the students. She encouraged them to work hard, remain focussed and respect their parents and teachers.

The visit ended with a thank you medley dedicated to Jacobs for being an inspiration to the teachers and the pupils. Rollan thanked Jacobs for starting her day colouring her portrait with the children.
