SABA/ST. EUSTATIUS--The measures taken to curb the spread of the coronavirus have a major impact on society. The Caribbean Netherlands Police Force KPCN is no exception; it also has to contend with this. However, it is not possible for an organisation such as the police force to scale down its operations like a non-vital organisation. That is why a number of measures have been taken to protect police officers and residents of Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba.
All visitors to the police stations will be asked to wear a face mask. If a visitor does not have one, a mask will be provided.
KPCN will be trying to reduce the contact moments at the police station as much as possible. Therefore, the process for making statements will be altered. In first instance, declarants must first make a written statement indicating what has happened. The statement will be completed by telephone or e-mail.
The uniformed officers on the street can wear masks for prevention, even when they are sitting in police cars.
KPCN asks residents to comply with the measures taken by the public entities Bonaire, St. Eustatius and Saba for the safety of everyone.
KPCN stresses that it is fully functional and operational and remains committed to the safety of society.
