PHILIPSBURG--St. Maarten Police Force KPSM has announced the successful completion of multiple specialised training programmes aimed at strengthening public safety and enhancing community-focused policing.

Five KPSM officers recently returned from Miami after completing a week-long School Resource Officer (SRO) training course. The programme, designed to prepare officers for placement in educational settings, focused on building positive relationships with students, maintaining safe school environments, and effectively addressing youth-related concerns.

In another key initiative, a group of KPSM personnel participated in the BAVPOL (Buitengewoon Agent van Politie) training programme, conducted in collaboration with various government departments. Each participating agency contributed its expertise to ensure a comprehensive and professional training experience for officers.

KPSM extended congratulations to all officers who completed the programmes and expressed gratitude to the training institutions and partner organisations involved.

“Continuous training and development remain central to our mission of improving safety and strengthening community trust,” the force stated. “These programmes help us better serve the people of St. Maarten.”

KPSM reaffirmed its commitment to ongoing professional development as it works to build a more responsive and community-oriented police force.
