MARIGOT--The man found dead in an apartment in Marigot on January 1, 2019, had been murdered, Prosecutor Yves Paillard disclosed on Monday.
“The meticulous work of the Gendarmerie’s detective section assisted by criminal identification technicians made it possible to arrest the alleged murderer of Remy Serge, who was found dead in his ground-floor apartment of Le Pirate Residence,” the Prosecutor’s release stated. “The investigation showed that the victim’s apartment was robbed and he had been stabbed several times.
“A 40-year-old male St. Martiner known previously for having been sentenced on about 15 occasions for theft and drug use is in prolonged custody and is due to be presented to the court in Pointe-à Pitre, Guadeloupe, on Tuesday for the judicial investigation.”
