MARIGOT--A motorbike accident occurred in French Quarter around 5:30pm Sunday, causing one individual to be transported to hospital.
Capitaine Regis Turlan Arto said the accident involved just one man, the rider of the motorbike, and no cars. He said the circumstances surrounding the accident as well as why he lost control of the motorbike are unclear.
“He was taken to hospital in an unconscious state,” said Arto. “We don’t know the extent of his injuries but he is still alive.”
Arto added when Gendarmes arrived the motorbike was nowhere to be seen. A blood sample was taken from the victim to check for alcohol or drugs but results won’t be known for two or three days.
