PHILIPSBURG--Police are on the lookout for a man who is believed to be responsible for stabbing a woman on Ginger Road in Cay Hill at 8:40am Thursday.
When authorities arrived at the home, officers encountered woman who had several stab wounds to her upper body from which she was bleeding profusely. The victim was immediately treated by paramedics and transported to St. Maarten Medical Center for further treatment.
Crime scene investigators collected evidence and detectives spoke to witnesses in the area of the incident. Investigators learnt that the victim was stabbed several times by the suspect during a heated argument with him.
The suspect fled the scene after committing this act and has not turned himself in or been arrested.
The victim was released after treatment at the hospital.
The investigation is ongoing.
