WILLEMSTAD--Curaçao Medical Center (CMC) announced that the first pacemaker implantation was successfully performed in its new Cath Lab.
“CMC is proud of this achievement carried out by its specialists in the lab, a new hospital department that has specialists and advanced equipment dedicated to medical treatments for heart disease.”
A pacemaker is a device that regulates the rhythm of the heartbeat when its frequency is not optimal due to a heart-rhythm disorder. CMC already had 32 successful implants, but the difference is that for the first time it was done within the Cath Lab.
It regards a surgical procedure that takes about an hour and a half. After this, the patient can spend the night in the hospital for the necessary medical control and attention. The next day he or she can go home when everything is in order.
CMC has four specific specialists for this method, “so patients can be assured that they are being treated by professionals with the appropriate expertise and experience. In this way, CMC as a pillar in healthcare, wants to continue to make every effort to offer its patients the high level of care and service they deserve.”
