PHILIPSBURG--Parliament has incorporated its recycling theme “Go Green” that was officially introduced during the opening of the parliamentary year in September, in its Christmas decoration this
holiday season.
Plastic bottles accumulated from Parliament’s recycling bins were used in some form to craft “beautiful ornaments” that were used to decorate Parliament’s Christmas trees and lobby area.
“There are tons of items around the home that can be recycled or reused this Christmas season to create ornaments, from bottles, plastic bottles, bottle caps, toilet roll tubes and much more,” Parliament said in a press release.
Parliament is encouraging the community of St. Maarten to consider the environment this Christmas by recycling and reusing to create festive items.
“It is a great time to get the family involved and create a habit of recycling, or even make it your New Year’s resolution to recycle as much as you can.”
Parliament urges the public to help in protecting the environment this holiday season and wishes everyone a Merry Christmas and a Prosperous 2020.
