Police reports three cases of breaking and entering

ST. EUSTATIUS--The Caribbean Netherlands Police Force KPCN reported three cases of breaking and entering on St. Eustatius.

On Friday, March 17, a restaurant in Chapel Piece was burglarised. On Sunday, March 23, a burglary was committed at a supermarket in Fort Oranjestraat, and on Monday, March 27, the GGD Health Service office at Cottage Road was burglarised, said KPCN Communication and Protocol Officer Caroll-Ann Soliano. She said the investigations in all three cases are in full swing.

A second burglary on March 27 took place at a supermarket in Golden Rock. The owner said the perpetrators had made entry through the rear of his business. The thief or thieves managed to steal petty cash that was left for change and other small cash change.

The owner of Tembo supermarket in Fort Oranjestraat said the persons had entered by breaking a window, and had stood on a chair to turn the video-surveillance camera up. The owner said the culprits were seen putting groceries in a bag. He stated that there were witnesses of the breaking and entering of his establishment.
