POND ISLAND--Prime Minister Leona Romeo-Marlin visited Postal Services St. Maarten (PSS) at its new location in the former Department of Civil Registry building on Pond Island on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister, along with members of the newly-appointed PSS Supervisory Board, PSS management, Bureau Telecommunication and Post (BTP) and key partners that made the relocation possible, toured the renovated office space on its first day of operation.
As of Wednesday, PSS began offering services from its new location. The relocation is part of an ongoing process to improve the overall functioning of the postal service. The services being offered at the new location are fax money orders to the Caribbean Netherlands islands, Curaçao and Aruba, Express Mail Service (EMS), sale of postage stamps, parcel shipments worldwide, elite post (with same-day delivery), pick up services, Aero-Post Ecommerce (online shopping), DHL services, cell phone top-up services, certified mail services and direct mail services.
The public can access their mailboxes at the former Post Office location until further notice. Additionally, all P.O. Box holders, who have outstanding rent or who are no longer interested in the service, should contact PSS’ customer service department at tel. 542-3968/542-2289 to have this updated.
