SYNOPSIS:  

The atmosphere across the northeastern Caribbean remains generally moist to support the development of cloudy periods with isolated showers at times. Meanwhile, the Atlantic high pressure system will maintain mostly moderate easterly winds.
Seas are expected to remain moderate with waves peaking near 6 feet during the next few days. Small craft operators and sea-bathers should exercise caution.

 

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate    
WAVES/SWELLS: 4 to 6 feet

 

SPECIAL FEATURE: At 11:00am, the center of Tropical Storm Nadine was located near latitude 12.6 N, longitude 31.6 W or about 2125 miles east-southeast of St. Maarten. Nadine is moving towards the northwest near 7 mph with maximum sustained winds near 65 mph and higher gusts. Little change in strength is anticipated today, with weakening likely by tomorrow.  Nadine is forecast to dissipate over the weekend.
This system does not pose a threat to St. Maarten.
The Meteorological Department St. Maarten will continue to monitor the progress of this system.

 

OUTLOOK through Friday midday: Partly cloudy to cloudy with isolated showers.
