This afternoon through Saturday midday: Partly cloudy, becoming cloudy at times with isolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms.

SURFACE WINDS: 
This afternoon through Saturday midday: East-southeasterly with a light to moderate breeze of 05 to 14 mph.


SYNOPSIS:  

Low-level moisture and instability will continue to generate occasional cloudy skies with showers and possible thunderstorms across the local area. 
Northeasterly swells will account for moderate seas, with waves peaking up to 6 feet during the next few days. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution.

 

STATE OF THE SEA: Moderate               WAVES/SWELLS: 5 to 6 feet

 

SPECIAL FEATURE: 
At 11:00 am, the center of Tropical Storm Nadine was located near latitude 16.0 N, longitude 36.2 W or about 1780 miles east-southeast of St. Maarten. The system is moving towards the west-northwest near 08 mph with maximum sustained winds near 45 mph and higher gusts. Weakening is forecast during the next couple of days, and Nadine is expected to dissipate by Sunday. 
This system does not pose a threat to St. Maarten.
The Meteorological Department St. Maarten will continue to monitor the progress of this system.

 

OUTLOOK through Sunday midday: Generally cloudy with scattered showers, some moderate to heavy and isolated thunderstorms.
