WEATHER:  

Today through Saturday morning: Generally cloudy with scattered showers and a chance of isolated thunderstorms.

SURFACE WINDS:  Today through Saturday morning: East-southeasterly with a gentle to moderate breeze of 08 to 16 mph and possibly higher gusts.

 

SYNOPSIS:  

Instability due to a mid to upper level trough, coupled with deep-layered moisture in the atmosphere will cause cloudiness and showers across the region during the next couple of days. Some of these showers may be heavy and cause flooding in low-lying areas as well as rock falls/landslides along hillsides. Residents and users of areas prone to flooding and landslides are advised to be vigilant and/or avoid these areas whenever possible. As a result, a heavy rainfall advisory is in effect for St. Maarten until tomorrow

Seas will peak near 6 feet during the next few days. Small craft operators and sea bathers should exercise caution. 

 

STATE OF THE SEA:  Slight to Moderate        WAVES/SWELLS: 4 to 6 feet

OUTLOOK through Sunday morning: Generally cloudy with isolated showers and possible isolated thunderstorms.
