SYNOPSIS:
A slack surface pressure gradient will continue to generate mostly light winds across the region. Available moisture in the atmosphere will account for isolated showers across the local area.
Above normal marine conditions have subsided. Moderate sea conditions are expected to prevail during the weekend. Small craft operators and sea bathers should continue exercising caution.

SPECIAL FEATURE:
- At 5:00 am, Tropical Storm Paulette and Tropical Storm Rene continued to move away, at safe distances from St. Maarten. Based on their projected paths, these systems are not expected to pose a direct threat to St. Maarten.
- A tropical wave over the eastern tropical Atlantic has a large area of disorganized showers and thunderstorms. Gradual development is expected
and this system has a high chance (90%) of formation through the next 5 days.
Another area of disturbed weather is located just off the west coast of Africa. This system has a medium (60%) chance of formation through the next 5 days.
THE METEOROLOGICAL DEPARTMENT OF ST. MAARTEN WILL CONTINUE TO MONITOR THESE SYSTEMS AND UPDATE THE PUBLIC ACCORDINGLY.
