Elsa Rozendal
WILLEMSTAD--Curaçao politician Elsa Rozendal has switched to the Democratic Party (DP) formerly led by her late father Boy and uncle Frank Rozendal
Last month, she broke with the MAN and resigned as its Member of Parliament (MP). Main reason for her switch is that she feels that the COVID-19 era requires a different policy than what her ex-party and current government coalition partner has been able to achieve, especially in the economic field.
Rozendal thinks this is more likely within the 75-year-old DP that at present has no parliamentary seat, and must thus get its candidate list endorsed by 788 eligible voters to be on the ballot for the March elections.
Earlier, former Member of Parliament (MP) for now opposition party MFK Dean Rozier also joined the red party, which until now had been unable to earn a single seat since country status was achieved per 10-10-10.
