WILLEMSTAD—The Kingdom Defence Ministry has donated 100 mattresses and bed linen to the disaster relief organisation of Curaçao. They come from station ship in the Caribbean Zr.Ms. Groningen.
In accordance with internal business operations, mattresses on board navy ships are changed periodically. These were picked up by local aid workers last Friday.
Zr.Ms. Groningen operates as station ship in the region. One of its main duties is to support local authorities, including the Dutch Caribbean Coast Guard.
Together with the army soldiers stationed on the island and the local Curaçao Militia they contribute to keeping a grip on maritime borders, also during the coronavirus crisis.
