PHILIPSBURG--Xtratight Entertainment has added another event to its roster with the hosting of the first “Calypso Lounge”, which was held in the tent at Princess Port de Plaisance Resort and Casino, on Saturday, November 30.

The event was sold out and patrons were lining up outside the gates from as early as 7:00pm. Upon entering, persons were greeted with a Guavaberry welcome drink and the sweet sounds of calypso, taking them on a journey “back to the good old days”.

Calypso Lounge’s line-up included calypsonians Sugar Aloes and Gypsy, both from Trinidad, and alongside them were local calypsonians King Beau Beau, King T-Mo, Empress Zee and Cedrick Rey. Local radio personality and comedian Fernando Clark hosted the show.

“It is such an overwhelming feeling seeing everything that you have worked so hard towards come to fruition,” said event organisers in a press release on Wednesday.

When asked whether this event would be taking place again, the organisers said empathetically, “Yes! Next year, you can expect a bigger and better Calypso Lounge.”
