Woman arrested by Alpha Team

AIRPORT--A woman C.M.M. from the Dominican Republic was arrested by officers of the Alpha Team at Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) on November 19.

C.M.M. came to the airport to pick up a friend who had just arrived on the island. When members of the Alpha Team asked her to provide any sort of valid personal identification, C.M.M. could only show an identification card from the Dominican Republic and stated that she had been residing in St. Maarten for the past 15 years.

Members of the Alpha Team arrested her for violations of article 23 and 24 of the immigration and residence law LTU, took her to the main police station and turned her over to the Immigration Mobile Unit.
