LOS ANGELES --Olympic gold-medal skier Lindsey Vonn popped the question to boyfriend P.K. Subban of the New Jersey Devils on Christmas Day in what she deemed a "non-traditional move."
The couple, which has been dating for two years, were dressed in matching striped pajamas in pictures posted on Twitter.
"Merry Christmas and happy holidays everyone!! On our 2 year anniversary, in a 'non traditional' move, I asked PK to marry me and he said, Yes!" Vonn wrote on Twitter. "Women aren't the only ones who should get engagement rings!"
The four-time Olympic skier closed the tweet with the hashtags "Merry Christmas" and "equality."
Subban, 30, initially had proposed to Vonn at their home in Los Angeles on Aug. 14, per Vogue.
Vonn, 35, is the winningest female Alpine racer of all time with 82 World Cup victories, 20 World Cup titles, three Olympic medals and eight World Championship medals.
Vonn previously was married to fellow Olympic skier Thomas Vonn and later dated Tiger Woods after her divorce. She met Subban at the Nickelodeon sports show in 2017 before going public with the relationship in June 2018.
Like Vonn, Subban also has an Olympic gold medal in his possession. The three-time NHL All-Star and former Norris Trophy recipient won gold while playing for Canada in the 2014 Sochi Games while Vonn has three Olympic medals, including a gold in downhill skiing.
