DISCUSSION AND OUTLOOK

At 1100 AM AST (1500 UTC), the center of Tropical Storm Ana was located near latitude 36.6 North, longitude 59.4 West. Ana is moving toward the northeast near 14 mph (22 km/h) and this heading with an increase in forward speed is expected during the next day or so.

Maximum sustained winds are near 40 mph (65 km/h) with higher gusts. Ana is forecast to become post-tropical by tonight and dissipate on Monday.

Tropical-storm-force winds extend outward up to 35 miles (55 km) from the center.

The estimated minimum central pressure is 1007 mb (29.74 inches).
