For the North Atlantic...Caribbean Sea and the Gulf of Mexico:
1. Central Caribbean Sea (AL97):
Disorganized showers and thunderstorms over the central Caribbean Sea are associated with a trough of low pressure. Environmental conditions could become a little more conducive for development in a day or two, and a tropical depression could form when the system moves over the southwestern Car-ibbean Sea during the latter part of this week. Regardless of development, this system has the poten-tial to produce heavy rains over portions of Central America late this week and into the weekend.
