MARIGOT--Over a hundred runners took part in Sunday’s 10K Run organised by Avenir Sportif Club de Saint-Martin, the 21st edition of the event.
The course took runners from the La Samanna start in Lowlands into Sandy Ground and Marigot via Baie Nettle, and out to the Agrément roundabout before returning to the finish via Galisbay, past Marina Fort Louis and the market. Male and female runners participated from Guadeloupe and set a fast pace.
In the overall results for the Men, it was Michel Pradel (Moule Running Club) first in 35:37, Omarco Robinson (Avenir Sportif Club) second in 36:47, and Gregoire Pigeon (SM Tri Academie) third 37: 28.
The women’s race was won by Sunilda Calme (39:55 - Guadeloupe), second Agnès Puigcerver (44:57 Avenir Sportif St Martin) and third Nathalie Maniez (45:30 - IGR). The race concluded with a medal ceremony and raffle. The Club's next event will be the “Saint-Martinoise”, a 100% women's race and walk, on March 11.
