Five St. Maarten cricketers in Leeward Islands U19 squad CUL DE SAC--Double West Indies U19 World Cup player Nathan Edward leads a talented contingent of five local cricketers for the Leeward Islands U19 team. Edward, who played in the 2022 and 2024 West Indies World Cup teams, is among five players from St. Maarten.
The other players are national U17 captain, Israel Morton, middle-order batsman Tyanick Honore and opening batsmen Michael Palmer and Davenand Singh. Edward and Palmer, seasoned members of the Leeward Islands U19 team, are joined by a fresh wave of talent. Honore, a member of the team last year, is back, and this time, he's accompanied by newcomers Morton and Singh. The last three players were also members of the Leeward Islands U17 team last year, showcasing their potential for growth and development. Edward was named vice-captain of this year’s team. Jewel Andrew from Antigua and Barbuda is the captain. The other members from Antigua and Barbuda are Matthew Miller, Mekali Tonge, Yanick Watley, Brent Joseph and Micah Mc Kenzie. Curdel Crooke and Zavio Henry are from St. Kitts. Nevis’ lone player is Carlton Pluck. The regional U19 tournament runs from June 30 to July 31 in St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
