PHILIPSBURG—Two Veteran and two Senior League matches were played in the on-going St. Maarten Futsal Association Competition at L.B. Scott Sports Auditorium Sunday.
In the Veteran competition C & D Connection faced Emile Photo and Risc Takers met NAGICO Fun Makers. C & D took an early 3-1 lead at the half and went on to win 6-4.
Fun Makers gained a 3-2 lead against Takers in the first half of their match and went on to win 7-5.
In the Senior Group Fun Makers crushed Flames United 9-4 after leading just 2-1 at the half.
In the final game of the day Emile Photo Jumped out to a 2-1 lead in the first half and failed to score in the second. Strikers netted three in the final period to win 4-2.
Strikers top the standings in Seniors Group A with 10 points. Presidente is second on nine points and Emile Photo is third with six.
Risc Takers top Group B with 10 points. Second is Presidente Light on nine points and followed by Fun Makers with seven.
Fun Makers older team is number one in the Veteran table with six points. C & D is second with three points and followed by Plotseling on three points.
In the senior division, teams will play the teams in their division twice. The top four teams will advance to the Quarter finals round. The bottom teams will be eliminated.
Team in the Veteran division will play each other twice in the first round. The top four teams will advance to the Semi Finals.
Five games are scheduled for Sunday with a youth match set to start the day. Kick-off is at 2:00pm.
