CUL DE SAC—Hillside Christian Primary School is the 2024 Kiddies Cricket Champ. On Friday, they defeated Martin Luther King Primary to lift the championship trophy at the Caribe Lumber Ballpark.Hillside Christian batted first and posted 54 off the allotted 10 overs. Martin Luther King responded with 30 when the overs ran out. The top scorer for the winners was Hemichenaday Hippolyte, who scored 15 runs. The best bowler for the fielding team was Arnicio Rombley, who had outstanding figures of 3 for 0 off his one over. Martin Luther King never found their rhythm with the bat to chase the total. Lusandro Freeman scored the most runs for his team, which was seven. The best bowler for Hillside Christian was Nahjah Wyatt, with 3 for 5 off his one over.In the other match for third and fourth place between Leonald Connor Primary and Seventh-day Adventist Primary, Leonald Connor won by 16 runs. Seventh-day Adventist reached 48 off the 10 overs. The main scorers were Luke Ritchie with 12 and Joel Morris with 10. The winners scored 49 with just two balls to spare to lift the third-place trophy. The players in double figures were Jionni Paulina and Horatio Rochester with 14 each and Jean Francois with 12. The best batsman and best bowler for each school was given a trophy. The player with the most runs was Reshawn Jones from Hillside Christian Primary, and the player with the most wickets was Judicio Van Heynegan from Martin Luther King Primary. The Kiddies Cricket programme was restarted in schools because of financial contributions from R4CR. The monetary grant lasted for one year and ended on February 29.
